This free summer party invitation template is called "Enchanted Garden," because the setting it depicts felt pretty darn enchanting to me. The soft purple, blue and green tones convey the feeling of a lazy and slightly magical summer afternoon in a garden, which makes it the perfect way to invite guests to your next summer birthday, anniversary, retirement or just-because party. But you don't have to use it only in the summer; this invitation design would work year-round.

The illustrations and background for this design came from the very talented Karen Kleiman of KaKlei Designs. Her work has a dreamy quality that I love, so I'll definitely be creating more invitations that incorporate her designs.

Summer will be here soon, which means you'll probably have use for this summer party invitation. There are so many uses for it: a backyard BBQ, a retro luau party, a birthday party or even a summer cocktail party! The design is generic enough to work for all those occasions; and without saying it explicitly, it automatically conveys the warmth and fun of summer.

If you want a more specific look for your summer party invitation, I also have some other designs you might like. There are some free BBQ invitations (that page also has instructions for creating the invitation in this post and some great videos with BBQ recipes) and 4th of July invitations, which feature stars, stripes and a modernized take on old fashioned red, white and blue. (One of the 4th of July invitation designs is posted on this blog too.) There are also free birthday and generic invitations you can access by clicking the ads in the sidebar.

I just had to post this free printable BBQ and cookout invitation template today, because it's so cold in my office. I wanted a reminder of barbecues and cookouts in the warmer days to come. Not that I'm complaining, mind you. Most of the time our South Florida weather is too hot and humid for my taste, so the extended cold snap we've been experiencing is welcome. My thin South Floridian blood just hasn't prepared me for it is all.

This BBQ and cookout invitation design is part of my free BBQ invitations collection, which contains three other designs, instructions for creating the invitation (access by clicking the link in this sentence or the yellow button below) and some great free videos: beginning barbeque tips, and instructions for making country style BBQ ribs and a dry rub.The videos are sure to get you ready for BBQ season!

The apron and oven mitt on this invitation came from Picnik, the free graphics program that virtually anyone can use. If you want to use Picnik make your own free images, please read my tutorial that will teach you how to create your own clip art.
