Free Kids and Adult Birthday Party Invitations

Click on the free printable birthday party invitation template to see it full size and download it.

I call this free birthday party invitation template Happy Town, because it features a dreamy, pastel landscape with whimsical houses, trees, flowers and a hot air balloon thrown in for fun. The soft shades of blue, green, purple and yellow make it easy on the eyes, and its universal theme makes it work for either a child's or adult's birthday party.

As with my pirate birthday party invitation and beach birthday party invitation, this design is constructed using images from Jamie Dell Scraps. If you're a scrapbooker, you'll want to check out her scrapbooking kits!

This invitation template comes from my birthday party invitations collection, which features standard A2 sized invitations for kids and adults. Click the link in the previous sentence or the yellow button below to see the rest of the birthday party invitation designs, read the instructions for creating them or order A2 envelopes from Amazon.

Fathers Day Quotes

He didn't tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it. ~Clarence Budington Kelland

My father used to play with my brother and me in the yard. Mother would come out and say, "You're tearing up the grass." "We're not raising grass," Dad would reply. "We're raising boys." ~Harmon Killebrew

One father is more than a hundred Schoolemasters. ~George Herbert, Outlandish Proverbs, 1640

Fatherhood is pretending the present you love most is soap-on-a-rope. ~Bill Cosby

Father! - to God himself we cannot give a holier name. ~William Wordsworth

Henry James once defined life as that predicament which precedes death, and certainly nobody owes you a debt of honor or gratitude for getting him into that predicament. But a child does owe his father a debt, if Dad, having gotten him into this peck of trouble, takes off his coat and buckles down to the job of showing his son how best to crash through it. ~Clarence Budington Kelland

A father is always making his baby into a little woman. And when she is a woman he turns her back again. ~Enid Bagnold

Blessed indeed is the man who hears many gentle voices call him father! ~Lydia M. Child, Philothea: A Romance, 1836

It is not flesh and blood but the heart which makes us fathers and sons. ~Johann Schiller

A father carries pictures where his money used to be. ~Author Unknown

When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished at how much he had learned in seven years. ~Mark Twain, "Old Times on the Mississippi" Atlantic Monthly, 1874

Dad, you're someone to look up to no matter how tall I've grown. ~Author Unknown

Old as she was, she still missed her daddy sometimes. ~Gloria Naylor

There's something like a line of gold thread running through a man's words when he talks to his daughter, and gradually over the years it gets to be long enough for you to pick up in your hands and weave into a cloth that feels like love itself. ~John Gregory Brown, Decorations in a Ruined Cemetery, 1994

It kills you to see them grow up. But I guess it would kill you quicker if they didn't. ~Barbara Kingsolver, Animal Dreams

It would seem that something which means poverty, disorder and violence every single day should be avoided entirely, but the desire to beget children is a natural urge. ~Phyllis Diller

Are we not like two volumes of one book? ~Marceline Desbordes-Valmore

The greatest gift I ever had
Came from God; I call him Dad!
~Author Unknown

Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body. ~Elizabeth Stone

Never raise your hand to your kids. It leaves your groin unprotected. ~Red Buttons

I don't care how poor a man is; if he has family, he's rich. ~M*A*S*H, Colonel Potter

Dad, your guiding hand on my shoulder will remain with me forever. ~Author Unknown

There's one sad truth in life I've found
While journeying east and west -
The only folks we really wound
Are those we love the best.
We flatter those we scarcely know,
We please the fleeting guest,
And deal full many a thoughtless blow
To those who love us best.
~Ella Wheeler Wilcox

Oh, the comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person, having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all out, just as they are, chaff and grain together, certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and with a breath of kindness blow the rest away. ~Dinah Craik

Sherman made the terrible discovery that men make about their fathers sooner or later... that the man before him was not an aging father but a boy, a boy much like himself, a boy who grew up and had a child of his own and, as best he could, out of a sense of duty and, perhaps love, adopted a role called Being a Father so that his child would have something mythical and infinitely important: a Protector, who would keep a lid on all the chaotic and catastrophic possibilities of life. ~Tom Wolfe, The Bonfire of the Vanities

Spread the diaper in the position of the diamond with you at bat. Then fold second base down to home and set the baby on the pitcher's mound. Put first base and third together, bring up home plate and pin the three together. Of course, in case of rain, you gotta call the game and start all over again. ~Jimmy Piersal, on how to diaper a baby, 1968

A Father and a Dad Are Not the Same

"A father and a dad are not the same:
One can be a dad and not a father,
Or one can be a father and not bother
To earn through love the more endearing name.
Some find fatherhood a bit too tame,
Leaving all the details to the mother,
Or dumping the sweet burden on another
Man with just a passing twinge of shame.
You have been our dad so many years
That you've become the landscape that is home,
The mountain that we look to from afar.
No matter where we go we're not alone,
For you remain within to still our fears
And be the word that tells us who we are."

Free Hawaiian Luau Party Invitations

Click on the free printable luau party invitation template to see it full size and download it.

This free Hawaiian luau invitation template conveys the feeling of that traditional island party: the luau. Its bold green and orange hibiscus flowers visually transport you to Hawaii, the original birthplace of luau parties.

This invitation design is just one in my collection of beach invitations. You can find a general beach party invitation on this blog and a variety of invitations for beach themed BBQs, luaus, birthday parties and regular parties on my free free beach invitations hub. I also have some luau party ideas on that page and a video that will teach you how to dance the hula. You can access the instructions for creating this page and the luau and beach party tips from the link in the previous sentence or by clicking the yellow button below.

Thanks again to Jamie Dell Scraps for allowing me to use her Beach Boogie Bash kit images in this invitation design.

Free Pink Tea Party Invitations

Click on the free printable tea party invitation template to see it full size and download it.

This free pink tea party invitation template features a pink ribbon and bows heart intertwined with deep pink rosebuds on a pink background. Given its color and the very feminine pink and floral theme, I don't think there's any doubt that this invitation is for a ladies tea -- although it is formal enough to be used for high tea as well.

The ribbon heart image is courtesy of Far Far Hill, and I think it's just beautiful. This invitation is from my printable tea party invitations hub, which contains four other designs, three vintage and one modern. The modern design features another Far Far Hill image, a blue floral wreath. Click the link to the hub above or the yellow button below to see the other tea party invitation designs, read the instructions or order square envelopes to fit this invitation.

Free Beach Party Invitations

Click on the free printable beach party invitation template to see it full size and download it.

This free beach party invitation template that features palm trees, coconuts, surfboards and hibiscus flowers in rich shades of crimson, orange, blue and green will definitely put you in a beach-y mood. And that's a good thing.

I've also created a variety of beach party, beach birthday party, Hawaiian luau and beach BBQ invitation designs, which you can find on my free beach party invitations hub or by clicking the yellow button at the bottom of the post. Instructions for creating the invitation on this page are also available there. And since you're interested in outdoor party invitations, you might also want to visit my BBQ and cookout invitations hub.

As with my pirate party invitation, the components for design this came from Jamie Dell Scraps. This time the images were from her adorable Beach Boogie Bash kit. Many thanks to her for generously allowing me to use them.

I dedicate this beach party invitation design to my mother-in-law Jan, who passed away in February. She not only was a beach and sun lover, but in the 1980s she served as president of the South Florida chapter of the American Hibiscus Society. She probably would have liked that I incorporated hibiscus flowers into this design

Free Pirate Party Invitations

Click on the free printable pirate party invitation template to see it full size and download it.

Aye, matey, this be a free pirate party invitation, suitable for pirates young and old. This A7- or A4-sized invitation; which simulates a washed-up pirate chest with pirate coins, sand, water droplets and ferns; could certainly be used as a boys birthday party invitation (or even one for a young pirate-loving girl). But I think adults would find it useful too.

I'm very happy with the way this invitation turned out, which is due in no small part to images I obtained from WP Clip Art and Jamie Dell Scraps pirate booty freebie kit. Both offer some wonderful free pirate images.

There are three other invitation designs on my free pirate party invitations hub, plus ideas for making pirate party cakes, a link to a pirate glossary and other pirate-party-related tips and resources. You can find the instructions for making these invitations at the previous link or by clicking on the yellow button below:

Free Commitment Ceremony Invitations

Click on the free printable commitment ceremony invitation template to see it full size and download it.

This free printable black and white commitment ceremony invitation template would also be great as wedding invitation. Its elegant script message that reads "Join Us for a Celebration of Our Love" would certainly work well for either event.

The design of this 5" x 7" invitation features a regal black and white flourish border and the heading is also in black. But if you'd like to highlight it with an accent color, that's easy to do. If you don't have a graphics program such as Photoshop, Publisher, Fireworks or similar, you can just pop the invitation template into Microsoft Word (butt two of the invitation images right next to each other for the most efficient use of space) and then add a text box that fits exactly over the white area. Choose a color for the text box border and then select the option to make the inside of the text box transparent. I tried this with both red and magenta and they both looked wonderful. (If you choose, you can also remove the heading text by placing a text box with a white background over it.) If you don't know how to use text boxes in MS Word, consult the Word help menu or do a web search for "Word text box tutorial" or something similar.

You can get more in-depth instructions for producing this gay commitment ceremony or wedding invitation and see additional invitation templates by visiting my free printable wedding invitations hub or by clicking on the yellow button below.
